Sinopse
The marriage of Denis and Ekaterina is going to be held within a couple of days. However, several things have to be settled down before that. So, Denis doesn't want to wear an engagement ring after the wedding while Katya insists that he has promised to do that at least for 6 months. Future spouses are going to attend the first meeting where their parents will get acquainted with each other. They will have to deal with such questions as whether to take the bag of the future mother in law, how it should be done and whether Denis should engage in politics. Besides, the mother of Denis offered an icon which would take part in the blessing which Denis seemingly is not quite ready to. The meeting takes place in the family kitchen of Katya's parents. The relatives of Denis are his mother and his younger brother. There are also the mother and the father of Katya. Despite the constant necessity to answer the calls concerning the organization of the upcoming matrimony, it comes to the discussion about the event itself. It turns out that the relatives have already planned a number of rites and games in style of the traditional Russian wedding. It becomes clear that Denis is not ready to fact that there will be a loaf, pink and blue baby crawlers and bride-kidnapping during the marriage in an italian restaurant. He vehemently opposes such a scenario and says that some traditions are vulgar. Katya also understands the artificiality and mismatch of styles such a celebration can have but decides to keep to a policy of compromise and “smile”. The conflict escalates and leads to emotional outbursts between the spouses and their relatives. At the end of the meeting the parents of the bride and the groom should give their blessing. But Denis asks to refuse of this idea – he explains that he was baptized at the age when he was not able to make decisions and was far from religious rites at all. Finally, he gets persuaded to have a behinde-the-scenes ceremony of parental blessing., Today, Denis and Katya will go to the Civil Registry Office to hold a formal matrimony. But before getting there they should sign a marriage contract. Denis explains that the relevance of such a document is minimal in the Russian legal system and that it will just define the rules of the game between Katya and Denis in case they have a conflict. After having drawn the agreement, the future spouses begin to discuss some arguable clauses concerning the partition of property and the place of trial in case they ever need that. Denis insists on the British court as he is not sure in the objectivity of the Russian legislation system and moreover, Katya has some influential relatives. At last they sign the document and the preparation for the ceremony in the Civil Registry Office continues. For a moment Denis feels bad, he nearly has a heart attack but everything turns out well. Denis and Katya wait for the possibility to register their marriage officially. They choose a cover for their certificate, discuss the costs of the musical accompaniment, ask each other the last sincere questions. After the official matrimony we see a solemn ceremony in a beautiful restaurant. According to the Western traditions, the father takes the bride to the groom. Straight after that there is a joyful eating of the loaf, of course. The marriage is over but the spouses still have to do much, that is why they have to wait before starting their wedding-night. They must ultimately settle down all the financial questions with the restaurant staff, carry out of the leftovers and put the guests into the taxis. Only after that the wedding celebration will be finally over.
