Sinopse
Mu Xin is a man who has sacrificed everything for his art. While illegally imprisoned during China’s Cultural Revolution, Mu Xin was given scraps of paper by his captors to write forced confessions.” Instead, he secretly wrote the “Prison Notes”, 66 pages of dialogues with history’s greatest minds - as well as 33 haunting Landscape Paintings. If caught he risked execution, but it was through this act of artistic faith that he survived this period mentally and physically, while so many others did not. A short documentary portrait on the life of one of the world's great artists co-directed by OSCAR® Nominated filmmakers Tim Sternberg and Francisco Bello, DREAMING AGAINST THE WORLD will expose new audiences to one of the most original, important, yet largely unknown artists of the last century.
