„Sea, rocks, sheeps, moonscape...what in the world could be fun here?“ was the question in the head of Axwell, one of the world's most famous music producer and DJ on his first drive to Pag. Few hours later totally different scene and feeling: beautiful beach full of happy people dancing all day and night in a great atmosphere and crazy party that goes on and on 24/7 in Papaya which became one of the hottest world's party destination!, This is the story about Zrće Beach on island of Pag, on Croatian side of Adriatic, and the story about Papaya club which attracted millions of young party goers from around the globe and made a new image of the whole island of Pag., Until 15 years ago, Zrće was just one of thousands beautiful beaches on Croatian coast, not much different than others: summer resort for local and regional tourists, campers, families etc...with one summer club called „Kalypso“., Few visionary youngsters from Zagreb who were already famous for their student and thematic parties, recognized the potential of Zrće. Their start was modest in 2002 with an open air venue with one bar and few sun umbrellas! Next season they named it Papaya! In the same time, next door, Aquarius club was open. Although you might think that competition is something negative, both clubs get credits to attract big mass of young people asking for pure summer parties! After few summer seasons, Papaya grew to internationally known level, the place became bigger, clubbers from worldwide discovered Papaya, and by 2010. Papaya is the place where the wold's biggest DJ names play! And they are happy to come back next year! Papaya was the first to promote „Day & Night“ festival with world's top 10 DJ names such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Armin Van Buuren, but also Snoop Dogg-a etc..., Papaya, and Zrće as new summer destination for young people alter the whole region, it is pioneer in youth tourism in Croatia and gets support from locals, state government and medias! But, the media hunger for sensations launched the story of „Sodom & Gomorrah“ on Zrće! On the other side, eminent medias like BBC, The Guardian, Travel Channel, Dj Mag, Mixmag, Daily Mail described Zrće as „must see“ top summer destination!, Papaya's first goal from the beginning is to become world's first summer party destination, and the biggest support comes from artists you can find in this movie, Tiesto, Axwell, Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Shapeshifters and many others, and of course, people who returns to Papaya every year., Papaya that I love are the people who are so exited and happy! “ Axwell, world's famous dance music producer!
