Sinopse
Hyperion is based on the eponymous novel by Friedrich Hölderlin and designed as a visual journey between elliptical and discordant memories of Greece., Hyperion shows a series of images that come from different times and ways of seeing Greece through the images shot in 16mm film, hand developed in the laboratories of LabA in Athens and through found footage films., These images are all united by a different rappresentation of Greece: oriental, daily and transient. The film contains images that show the illustrations of JB Hilaire taken by the travel book written by the Ambassador Choisel - Gauffier, one of the few iconographic sources that Hölderlin has used to write the romance. The found footage came by a film produced in '48 by the American School of Athens titled Triumph Over the Time, produced to sponsorize the work of U.S. archaeologists in Greece and those of a private dutch film., Some images are dedicated to Nature which is alaways the hope for the human being. The final shoot is dedicated to a sea passage.
