Pablo has smoked twenty Winstons a day since he was twelve. Retired from the mines, today he spends most of his days in a haze of smoke and daytime television. Now he must quit – he has suffered five severe heart attacks and his doctor, wife and family fear for his health. However, Pablo is a stubborn man and change does not come easily to him. With a languid pace that mirrors its lead, this documentary captures the beautiful landscape of Almadén in Spain as the endearing curmudgeon Pablo goes about his daily life.
