THE ANATOMY OF A CRISIS AND OF TWO DEATHS Through their life story, George Krokos (executed by the Germans on May 1st 1944) and Dimitris Christoulas (ended his life in front of the Greek parliament on 4/4/2012, a deeply political and symbolic act), gives us the opportunity to analyze the current economic and humanitarian crisis in Greece in juxtaposition with the economic policies of the Third Reich during the Second World War, illustrating German practices and ambitions, against the backdrop of the deaths of millions of people. Historical facts will help us shine a light on the present. To understand how political mechanisms often exploit or even create financial crises in order to achieve their goals. Finally, a question arises: how different and remote are the master plans that led humanity into World War II, from those master plans that resulted in the crisis we are experiencing today.
