Sinopse
Woo-suk Yun, a woman in her seventies and full of life, lives in a fishing village along the Bay of Suncheon in South Korea. In the middle of those beautiful landscapes, we follow her through the seasons working every day with energy and enthusiasm, like a man, in the fields, fishing and selling her catch.
Soon we understand that she’s married with an alcoholic man who doesn’t care about what she has to do to make a living for both. Nonetheless she dares to complain in front of him during the few moments he’s sober or awake. However after the death of her unworthy husband, she’s crying for the first time in seventy years. A film with a rare realism poetry, a documentary which confirms the raise of the independent cinema in Korea.
Beyond the beautiful photography of Hongki Lee, the director, we face the life of a woman who, going through a hard fate, finds her own way in a society dominated by men.
