In a hot summer day Laura and Albertino, two shepherds from the remote Portuguese village of Regoufe, talk on the top of a mountain while the herd is grazing. Laura points to a fire over the front mountain. It’s seems normal to them, because every year when the summer is approaching the fire incidents occur in the surrounding forests. Albertino complains about the lack of young people in the region: “If old people die, it will be like Drave” – a desolate village near there. “The young people leave…” says with sadness. What are the other threats faced by this people? All the film episodes contributes to present a portrait of the gradual extinction of the village and reflect on the uprooting in contrast with the resistance of these few people. What are the challenges for the future generations and what can we expect from the future of the village?
