Sinopse
Elgar's Enigma: Biography of a Concerto follows a theory that the composer maintained a life-long connection to his first love, Helen Weaver, and to her New Zealand-born son Kenneth Munro. A subtle weave of interview, archive, re-enactment and performance explores the proposition that Elgar's Cello Concerto was inspired by ANZAC Kenneth’s death in the trenches of WW1.
Renowned American cellist Lynn Harrell performs a moving interpretation of the concerto with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Matthias Bamert.
