The governement of Afghanistan, the ISAF and the UN work closely in support of the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) process. The DDR process was initiated with a pilot project in Winter 2003-04 and aims at the disarmament and demobilisation of former combatants prior to their reintegration into Afghan society. According to the wishes of UN, the DDR process should, when it reaches its term, disarm about 70.000 mudjahiddin. Anne Amzallag's documentary DDR follows the entirety of the pilot process.
